<b>X-ray astronomy and image acquisition</b><br>

<i><span style="font-size:0.9em"><br>
The atmosphere of Earth is opaque to X-rays. While this
is beneficial for our health, it bans X-ray observations
of astronomical sources. Only with the beginning of the
space era, the first X-rays of extragalactic sources
were detected with dedicated satellites. This opened the
door to the new science. Today we know that X-rays are
produced in hot and violent processes, like the ones we
observe in Active Galactic Nuclei and in Supernova
Remnants, or in the vicinity of Black Holes. Together,
we will explore the main steps of the past, the present
and the future in the fantastic field of X-ray
Astronomy.</span> <br>
