<p style="margin: 1em 0px;">Die
Geminiden sind der stärkste
Meteorstrom des Jahres. Seine
Aktivität hat sich in den letzten
Jahrzehnten kontinuierlich erhöht
und übertrifft inzwischen jene der
Perseiden im August. In diesem
Jahr ist das Maximum für die Nacht
vom 14. auf 15. Dezember
angekündigt. Fallraten von bis zu
120 Sternschnuppen pro Stunde
werden erwartet. Aber auch in den
Nächten zwischen dem 4. und 17.
Dez. können Geminiden gesichtet
werden, da in diesem Zeitraum die
Erde die Staubspur des Asteroiden
3200 Phaethon durchquert.</p>
<p style="margin: 1em 0px;">Der
Radiant der Geminiden liegt knapp
nördlich des hellen Sterns Castor
im Sternbild Zwillinge. Im
Gegensatz zu anderen
Sternschnuppenströmen lassen sich
deshalb die Geminiden auch schon
in den Abendstunden beobachten.</p>

margin-bottom: 0px;">Bei klarem
Himmel nach dem Vortrag: Ausschau
halten nach den Geminiden. Auch
die Objekte des weihnachtlichen
Sternenhimmels werden unseren
Besuchern nähergebracht.</p>
