nur wenige Prozent größer als ein
durchschnittlicher Vollmond,
trotzdem wird der in den frühen
Morgenstunden des 8.4. eintretende
Aprilvollmond 2020 in vielen Medien
wieder als "Supermond" betitelt.
Tatsächlich steht der Mond am
7.4.2020 um 20:15 Uhr im kleinsten
Erdabstand des Jahres. Das nächste
Mal näher an der Erde ist er am
4.12.2021. Die Unterschiede sind
aber so gering, dass dies am Himmel
nicht auffällt.<br>
Interessanter am Aprilvollmond ist,
dass er sozusagen das Datum des
Osterwochenendes festlegt. Die
verschiebbaren christlichen
Feiertage gehen noch auf den
jüdischen Mondkalender zurück. In
diesem fing ein Monat immer mit dem
sogenannten Neulicht an - der ersten
sichtbaren Mondsichel nach Neumond.
Ostern fällt aufs jüdische Pessach,
das im Mondmonat so liegt, dass es
nach Vollmond stattfindet. Die
Monate im gebräuchlichen Sonnenjahr
sind allerdings nicht genau mit den
Mondphasen synchron und so
kann Ostern zwischen Ende März und
Ende April fallen. Die Regel in
Kürze: Ostersonntag ist der erste
Sonntag nach dem ersten Vollmond
nach Frühlingsanfang. Manchmal steht
Ostern aber später im Kalender als
astronomisch zu erwarten - z.B. 2019
und wieder 2038. Was es mit diesen

dass alle höheren Elemente, aus
denen organisches Leben und somit
auch der Mensch besteht, in
Sternen erst "erbrütet" werden
musste, ist noch keine 100 Jahre
alt. Die Verbreitung dieser
Erkenntnis verdankt sich
wesentlich einem legendären
Aufsatz von 1957, dem "<a

an dem auch <a
href="https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Burbidge"

Burbidge</a> (s. Foto) beteiligt
war. Darin wird beschrieben, wie
aus Wasserstoff und Helium durch
Fusionsprozesse nach und nach die
schwereren Elemente erzeugt werden
können.<br>

Margaret Burbidge, die Grande Dame
der Astrophysik des 20.
Jahrhunderts, ist nun am 05. April
2020 in ihrem hundertsten
Lebensjahr verstorben. Geboren
1919 in England war sie die erste
Frau die dem Royal Greenwich
Observatory vorstand. Der Titel
des "Astronomer Royal", sonst
untrennbar mit dieser Position
verbunden, wurde ihr als Frau
jedoch versagt. Später leitete sie
die American Astronomical Society
und war an der Entwicklung des
Hubble Space Telescope beteiligt,
das demnächst sein 30-jähriges
Jubiläum feiert.</p>

margin-bottom: 0px;">Passend zur
Karwoche nehmen wir das nun
vollendete Leben von Margeret
Burbidge zum Anlass, an die noch
recht junge Erkenntnis zu
erinnern, dass wir alle aus
Sternenstaub bestehen.</p>

lang verfolgte die Astro-Gemeinde
gebannt die Passage der Venus
entlang der Plejaden. An vielen
Abenden bekam sie dabei Besuch von
der vorbeifliegenden Raumstation
ISS.<br>
