Dezember 2021 um 16:59 Uhr</a>, beginnt offiziell der Winter. Wieder mal neigt sich ein Jahr dem Ende zu und erinnert uns daran, dass auch diese so bodenständig erscheinenden kalendarischen Einschnitte allesamt astronomischer Natur sind. Während der meteorologische Winter bereits am 01. Dezember begann und die kältesten Winterwochen sicher noch bevorstehen, geht es astronomisch jetzt schon wieder bergauf: Nach kürzestem Tag und längster Nacht steigt die Sonne ab übermorgen jeden Tag kontinuierlich ein Stückchen weiter empor - bis zu ihrem Höchststand am 21. Juni. <br><br>Nicht nur die Sonnenbahn kennt ihr jahreszeitliches Auf und Ab. Wir alle erlebten und erleben das zweite Jahr in Folge eine Achterbahnfahrt. Bis Ende Mai (seit November 2020!) waren wir komplett geschlossen, konnten ab Juni alle unsere Programme wieder hochfahren und ab Juli sogar wieder mit Vorträgen beginnen. Alles auf kleiner Flamme, mit stark reduziertem Platzangebot, dafür um so persönlicher. <br>Höhepunkte zuletzt waren der Astronomietag Mitte Oktober mit 150 Gästen und der englische Halloween-Vortrag mit immerhin Zweidrittel-Besetzung im Saal. Seit November geht es wieder in Richtung eines "gefühlten Lockdowns" mit stark reduzierten Angeboten, Verschiebungen, Stornierungen... Das führt leider auch dazu, dass viele von Ihnen warten mussten und müssen und bei unseren stark nachgefragten <a style="color: #3f3f3f; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://sternwarte-muenchen.de/regelmaessige-abendfuehrung/">Abendführungen</a> und <a style="color: #3f3f3f; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://sternwarte-muenchen.de/angebote/">Kinderprogrammen</a> nicht immer gleich einen Platz bekommen. <br><br>Daher möchten wir Ihnen allen an dieser Stelle ganz herzlich für Ihre Geduld, Ihr Verständnis und Ihre Treue danken. Ihr Zuspruch, Ihre Nachfrage hat uns zu jeder Zeit die Zuversicht bewahren lassen, dass nach dunkler Zeit bald auch wieder hellere Tage kommen werden. Dezember vor 25 Jahren starb <a style="color: #3f3f3f; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Sagan">Carl Sagan</a> (1934-1996), der Generationen von Menschen für Raumfahrt und Weltallforschung begeisterte. Seine 13-teilige Fernsehserie "Cosmos" (dt. "Unser Kosmos") erreichte 500 Millionen Menschen. Die von ihm initiierte "<a style="color: #3f3f3f; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voyager_Golden_Record">Golden Record</a>" mit Botschaften der Menschheit an außerirdische Intelligenzen hat auf den Voyager-Sonden bereits die Grenze des Sonnensystems überwunden. Sein Roman "<a style="color: #3f3f3f; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contact_(1997)">Contact</a>" hat nicht zuletzt dank der Verfilmung mit Judy Foster 1997 die Leidenschaft und Bedeutung der Suche nach extraterrestrischer Intelligenz (<a style="color: #3f3f3f; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_for_Extraterrestrial_Intelligence">SETI</a>) erlebbar gemacht.</p><p style="margin: 1em 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; text-align: justify;">In der jüdischen Tradition der "yahrzeit" wird der verstorbenen Anverwandten an ihrem Todestag mit einer für 24 Stunden brennenden Kerze gedacht. Wir wollten das Datum eigentlich zum Anlass nehmen, in diesen Wochen mit einer Reihe von Veranstaltungen an Carl Sagan zu erinnern und sein Lebenswerk zu würdigen. In Anbetracht der aktuellen Lage mussten diese Planungen jedoch auf nächstes Jahr verschoben werden. <br><br>In diesem Sinne lassen wir die Flamme der Begeisterung noch mindestens das ganze nächste Jahr brennen und informieren Sie rechtzeitig über die nachzuholenden Programme zu Carl Sagan und seinen Lebensthemen.</p></td>

"spätestes" Startdatum immer mehr hervortritt). <br>Nach endlosen Verschiebungen wird die Ariane 5-Rakete der ESA ihre mit rund 10 Mrd. USD wertvollste Fracht aller Zeiten, wenn alles klappt, als Weihnachtsgeschenk ausliefern.
