sonnennächste Planet ist meistens
nur schwer zu sehen, da er meistens
unserem Tagesgestirn so nahe steht,
dass er überstrahlt wird. Doch nun
erreicht er seine maximale westliche
Elongation am<strong> Samstag, den
8. Oktober</strong>, was bedeutet,
dass er am Morgenhimmel seine größte
Entfernung zur Sonne erreicht.<br>
<br>
Merkur ist der <strong>kleinste
Planet</strong> im Sonnensystem
und ein echtes <strong>Schwergewicht</strong>:
drei Viertel seiner Masse macht sein
Eisenkern aus, ein enormer Anteil,
wenn man bedenkt, dass der Eisenkern
der Erde beispielsweise nur ein
Drittel ihrer Masse ausmacht. <br>
Der kleine Planet besitzt praktisch
keine Atmosphäre und seine
Oberfläche ist
übersäht mit Einschlagskratern,
ähnlich wie die des Erdmondes.<br>
<br>
Merkur braucht nur ca. 88 Tage, um
die Sonne zu umrunden. Er steht in
einer 2-3 Resonanz was seine Drehung
um sich selbst und seinen
Sonnenorbit betrifft: pro drei
Umdrehungen um die eigene Achse
umkreist er zwei Mal die Sonne.<br>
<br>
<strong>Obacht: Bitte richten Sie
ein Teleskop oder auch ein
Fernglas niemals in Richtung Sonne
aus! Auch bei seiner maximalen
westlichen Elongation steht der
Merkur der Sonne immer noch recht
nah.</strong> <br>
Versuchen Sie nicht, Merkur zu
beobachten, während irgendein Teil
der Sonne über dem Horizont steht,
sonst könnten bleibende Schäden auf
der Netzhaut die Folge sein.</p>

auf den 9. Oktober erreicht der
Meteorstrom der <strong>Draconiden</strong>
seinen Höhepunkt. <br>
Dieser <strong>Sternschnuppenschwarm</strong>
scheint aus dem Sternbild Drache zu
entspringen, wodurch auch der Name
zustande kommt. Die meisten
Sternschnuppen kommen aus Richtung
der beiden hellsten Sterne der
Konstellation, Etamin und Alwaid,
welche den Kopf des Drachens bilden.</p>
<p style="margin: 1em 0px;"> </p>
<p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align:
justify;">Ursprung dieses
Schauspiels ist der <strong>Komet
21P/Giacobini-Zinner</strong>,
dessen Bahn die Erde jedes Jahr
Anfang Oktober kreuzt und so durch
die zurückgelassenen Partikel des
Kometen hindurchgeht. Diese Partikel
verglühen dann beim Eintritt in die
Erdatmosphäre und verursachen somit
den Strom an kleinen,
vorbeiflitzenden
Leuchterscheinungen.</p>
<p style="margin: 1em 0px;"> </p>
<p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align:
justify;">Am besten kann man die
Draconiden kurz nach Sonnenuntergang
bei klarem Himmel und möglichst
uneingeschränkter Sicht, ohne
störende Bäume oder Häuser,
beobachten.</p>

justify;">Etwas trüben dürfte die
Sternschnuppen - Erfahrung der
Vollmond. Am 9. Oktober leuchtet der
Mond wieder maximall hell und
überstrahlt so sicherlich eine
Vielzahl der zarten Schnuppen.
Trotzdem ist dieser Vollmond nicht
nur ein Grund zum Ärgernis: es ist
der erste Vollmond nach dem
sogenannten Erntemond (der wiederum
der Vollmond ist, der dem
Herbstanfang am nächsten kommt) und
daher als <strong>Jagdmond</strong>
bekannt.<br>
Er steht in den Fischen, ganz in der
Nähe vom Jupiter und damit
glücklicherweise noch etwas entfernt
vom Drachen.</p>

<p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align:
justify;">Was hat nun dieser
Vollmond mit der Jagd zu tun? Um den
Ursprung des Namens ranken sich
einige Legenden und Mythen. <br>
Praktisch jeder Vollmond im Jahr hat
einen Spitznamen. Da der Erntemond
ja nahe des Herbstanfangs steht,
markierte er lange für Bauern der
Nordhalbkugel die Notwendigkeit des
Einholens der Ernte vor dem ersten
Frost. Nach der Ernte widmeten sie
sich traditionell der Jagd, um die
Vorräte für den Winter aufzustocken.
Daher rührt wahrscheinlich also auch
die Bezeichnung für diesen kommenden
Vollmond.</p>
