Project Apollo led to the first human landing on the Moon. The final lunar landing of Apollo 17 took place 50 years ago, in December 1972, and no human has been back in lunar orbit or landing on the Moon since then. Sie dürfen! Wir alle dürfen! In diesen Nächten ist das Wünschen ausdrücklich erlaubt und dutzend- und hundertfache Anlässe nahezu garantiert.</p> <p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align: justify;">Zu danken haben wir das dem <a style="color: #3f3f3f; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/(3200)_Phaethon">Asteroid (3200) Phaethon</a>, einem stattliche 6 km großen, potenziell gefährlichen Erdbahnkreuzer aus der Apollo-Familie (zum Vergleich: der "Dino-Killer" war gerade mal gut 10 km groß), der aber zum Glück nicht auf einmal und in einem Stück auf die Erde stürzt, sondern in kleinen, aber in jeder Hinsicht ansehnlichen Raten, nämlich als Staub- & Sternschnuppenregen.</p> <p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align: justify;">Alljährlich Mitte Dezember passiert die Erde auf ihrer Bahn die von Phaethon erzeugte und regelmäßig alle knapp 1,5 Jahre aufgefrischte Meteoroidenwolke, die so liegt, dass der Regen für uns aus Richtung der Sternbild Zwillinge zu kommen scheint. Daher: Geminiden.<br><br>Phaethon ist dabei ein rätselhaftes Zwitter-Wesen. teils Asteroid, teils ein bisschen wie ein Komet. Asteroiden haben für gewöhnlich keinen Schweif. Meteorströme sind in der Regel Kometen zu verdanken. Phaethon führt, wie schon in der Sage, ein "aus-schweifendes" Leben, das ihn sehr nah an die Sonne bringt. Vermutlich evaporiert in der großen Hitze von über 700°C dort Material an seiner Oberfläche, welches alsdann auf seiner stark elliptischen Bahn verteilt wird. </p> <p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align: justify;">Die Geminiden gelten neben den sommerlichen Perseiden mittlerweile als ergiebigstes und augenfälligstes Sternschnuppen-Highlight im Jahreslauf. Stündliche Fallraten werden im Maximum mit über 120 bis fast 200 angegeben. Das ist allerdings immer ein idealisierter Wert, von dem abzuziehen ist, dass der Radiant (in den Zwillingen) nicht immer direkt über einem am Himmel steht. In der Praxis sind dennoch phasenweise auch schon mal zwei, drei Wünsche pro Minute fällig. Dazwischen gibt es auch wieder minutelange Verschnaufpausen, damit das Wünschen nicht in Stress ausartet.</p> <p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align: justify;">Die Geminiden sind auffällig hell und können sich somit sogar gegen den immer noch hellen Mond durchsetzen (wie auf dem Foto oben von S. Deiries von 2019 gut zu erkennen). Auch gehören sie nicht zu den schnellsten Schnuppen: mit 35 km/s sind sie etwa nur halb so flink wie die Perseiden oder zuletzt im November die Leoniden. Somit währt der Anblick und der Genuss ein paar Zehntelsekunden länger, genug Zeit, um auch etwas komplexere Wünsche unterzubringen.</p> <p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align: justify;">Am heutigen Mittwochmittag (14.12.) um 14 Uhr MEZ ist es so weit. Die Beobachtung ist die ganze Nacht über möglich; auch noch in den kommenden Nächten. Es empfehlen sich üblicherweise die späten Nacht- bzw. frühen Morgenstunden, wenn das Sternbild Zwillinge hoch am Himmel steht.</p> <p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align: justify;"><em><strong>Viel Glück beim Wünschen</strong> - vielleicht <a style="color: #3f3f3f; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C62TMmzM5os">mit einer Melodie dazu...!</a></em></p> <p style="margin: 1em 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; text-align: justify;"> </p> </td>

Mit ihm wird der sich um den Beobachter drehende Sternenhimmel nachgebildet. Mit dem Astrolabium kann man Sternpositionen, Auf- und Untergangszeiten berechnen und vieles mehr. Astrolabien waren von der Antike bis in die frühe Neuzeit im Gebrauch.
