befinden uns schon mitten in einem
der ersten astronomischen Highlights
2023: den <strong>Quadrantiden</strong>!
<br>
Dieser Sternschnuppenstrom (oder
auch Meteorschwarm genannt)
erreichte seinen Höhepunkt am frühen
Morgen des<strong> 4. Januars</strong>
und wird uns noch bis zum <strong>12.
Januar</strong> begleiten. <br>
Die Sternschnuppen der Quadrantiden
entspringen aus dem nordöstlichen
Teil des Sternbildes<strong>
Bärenhüter</strong>, weshalb sie
auch als "Bootiden" bekannt sind.
Ein älteres Sternbild namens
"Mauerquadrant", was zwischen dem
heutigen Bärenhüter, dem Drachen und
Herkules lag und heute nicht mehr
offiziell geführt wird, verleiht den
Quadrantiden ihren gängigen
Namen.</p>
<p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align:
justify;">Welcher Himmelskörper die
Quadrantiden verursacht, war lange
nicht klar. Erst 2003 wurde der
Asteroid <strong>2003 EH1</strong>
entdeckt, bei dem vermutet wird,
dass es sich um den Kern eines
weitestgehend zerstörten Kometen
handelt. Seine Bahn passt
hervorragend zum jährlich
auftretenden Sternschnuppenschwarm.</p>
<p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align:
justify;">Der ursprüngliche Komet
könnte schon viel früher beobachtet
worden sein, nämlich bereits vor 500
Jahren in China. <strong>C1490/Y1</strong>
könnte bei seinem Zerfall genau in
die zahllosen Teilchen zerbrochen
sein, die heute Anfang jeden neuen
Jahres auf unsere Atmosphäre
prasseln.</p>
<p style="margin: 1em 0px;
margin-bottom: 0px; text-align:
justify;">Der Radiant, also
Ursprungsort der Quadrantiden, ist
zirkumpolar. Das bedeutet, er
verschwindet nicht hinter dem
Horizont. Richtig hoch steigt er
aber ab der zweiten Nächthälfte im
Nordosten und zieht Richtung Osten.</p>

Kepler</strong> hat in seinem
berühmten ersten keplerschen Gesetz
folgendes festgehalten: <br>
<br>
<em>"Die Planeten bewegen sich auf
elliptischen Bahnen, in deren
einem Brennpunkt die Sonne steht."</em><br>
<br>
Die Sonne steht also nicht in der
Mitte der Bahn der Erde, sondern im
<strong>Brennpunkt</strong>.
Zugegebenermaßen ist die Bahn der
Erde fast ganz kreisförmig, aber
eben nur fast. Eine leichte
Ellipsenform ist auch im Orbit
unseres Heimatplaneten zu erkennen.
Und deswegen gibt es einen <strong>sonnenfernsten</strong>
und einen <strong>sonnennächsten</strong>
Punkt auf der Bahn der Erde um die
Sonne.</p>
<p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align:
justify;">Jetzt, genau genommen am<strong>
4. Januar um 17:17 Uhr</strong>,
durchlaufen wir unser <strong>Perihel</strong>,
den sonnennächsten Punkt der
Erdbahn. Wir sind unserem
Heimatstern nun ca. 5 Millionen
Kilometer näher als im Juli, wenn
die Erde den sonnenfernsten Punkt,
das Aphel, durchläuft. Das
Sonnenlicht erreicht uns heute <strong>siebzehn
Sekunden</strong> früher als im
Sommer. Im nördlichen Winter ist die
Erde also näher an der Sonne als im
Winter auf der Südhalbkugel.</p>
<p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align:
justify;">Trotz dem für uns doch
recht stattlichen
Entfernungsunterschied ist die
elliptische Bahn der Erde aufgrund
ihrer enormen Ausdehnung mit bloßem
Auge von einem Kreis nicht zu
unterscheiden.</p>
<p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align:
justify;">Die Erdbahn ist übrigens
ständig in Veränderung: durch den
Einfluss der anderen Planeten
verformt sie sich. Etwa alle 60
Jahre verschiebt sich das Perihel um
etwa einen Tag. <br>

Mit bloßen Augen bekommt man von
dieser größeren Annäherung praktisch
nichts mit. Aber man kann die langen
Winternächte noch nutzen um einen
Blick auf diejenigen zu werfen, die
sonst noch gravitativ an der Erde
zerren: die <strong>anderen
Planeten</strong> des
Sonnensystems. Einige davon sind bei
gutem Wetter momentan noch wunderbar
bei der Abendführung zu beobachten!</p>

auf eine Reise quer durch Polen, um
den Einschlag von VR-24-17-20 selbst
zu sehen. Ihnen auf den Fersen: Oma
