Montag, den <strong>23. Januar</strong>,
hat unser Abendstern ein Rendezvous
mit jemandem, der sogar gleich den
Ring dabei hat!<br>
Venus und Saturn treffen sich
nämlich am Abendhimmel in Richtung
Süd-Westen, ganz romantisch direkt
bei der Sichel des zunehmenden
Mondes.</p>
<p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align:
justify;">Mit Jahresbeginn ist der
Venus als Nachzüglerin der Sonne
wieder zum <strong>Abendstern</strong>
geworden. Eigentlich ist dieser Name
eher unpassend, denn wie man schon
durchaus lange weiß, die Venus ist
kein Stern, sondern ein Planet.<br>
Trotzdem hat er sich durchgesetzt,
denn unsere Nachbarin ist eben
entweder am Abend, kurz nach
Sonnenuntergang, oder am Morgen,
kurz vor Sonnenaufgang (dann als
Morgenstern), zu sehen. Das liegt an
ihrer Bahn um die Sonne, die
innerhalb der Erdbahn liegt und so
von uns aus gesehen niemals weit von
unserem Heimatstern abweichen kann.</p>
<p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align:
justify;">Auch bei den alten
Griechen war Venus schon als Abend-
oder Morgenstern bekannt. Dort hieß
sie am Abend <strong>Hesperos</strong>,
nach der Figur eines
sternenliebenden Titanen, und
morgens <strong>Phosphoros</strong>
- oder auch im lateinischen Lucifer
- der Lichtbringer.</p>

C/2022 E3 (ZTF)</strong> rast nun
unermüdlich weiter auf die Erde zu.
Am <strong>1. Februar</strong> wird
er seinen erdnächsten Punkt in <strong>42
Millionen Kilometer</strong>
Entfernung passieren, bevor er
wieder in die große Dunkelheit des
Weltraums davonzieht. <br>
Mit großer Spannung wird die Zunahme
seiner Helligkeit beobachtet.
Forschende schätzen, dass er am 1.
Februar bis zu <strong>5,5.
Magnitude</strong> erreichen
könnte und somit dann theoretisch
mit bloßem Auge sichtbar sein
müsste. <br>
<br>
Eine gute Nacht zur Beobachtung ist
allerdings bereits <strong>Samstag,
der 21. Januar</strong>. Dann hat
der Komet voraussichtlich zwar erst
ungefähr 6. oder 7.
Magnitude erreicht, es handelt sich
aber um eine <strong>Neumondnacht</strong>,
es wird also wunderbar dunkel sein.
In ausreichender Entfernung zu
hellen Lichtern der Stadt und mit
freier Sicht nach Norden und
Nordwesten, dürfte C/2022 E3 mit
einem Fernglas zwischen dem
Sternbild<strong> Drache</strong>
und <strong>Bärenhüter</strong>
(siehe Bild oben, rotes Kreuz) zu
erkennen sein.</p>

seiner kurzen Bekanntschaft mit der
<strong>Venus</strong> (siehe oben)
zieht sich der Saturn nun immer
weiter vom <strong>Abendhimmel</strong>
zurück und geht jeden Tag früher
unter, kaum noch im letzten Licht
der Sonne zu erkennen.<br>
<br>
Mitte Februar steht er in <strong>Konjunktion</strong>
mit unserem Heimatstern, also direkt
hinter ihr, und wird erst wieder
Ende April morgens kurz vor der
Sonne am Osthimmel auftauchen. Erst
ab Juli geht Saturn dann wieder vor
Mitternacht auf.</p>
<p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align:
justify;">In der Antike benannte man
ihn nach dem <strong>Gott des
Reichtums und der Landwirtschaft,</strong>
den Vater des Hauptgottes Jupiter.
Er war damals der entfernteste der
fünf (bzw. sieben, denn der Mond und
die Sonne galten ebenfalls als
Planeten) bekannten Planten. <br>
<strong>Galileo Galilei</strong>
erkannte im 17. Jahrhundert bei
seinen Beobachtungen des Saturns
rundliche Ausbuchtungen an den
Seiten des Planeten, ein erster
Hinweis auf seine <strong>Ringe</strong>.
Später verwarf Galileo diese
Beobachtung allerdings wieder, da
der Saturn dann zufällig so
ungünstig stand, dass die Ringe nur
auf ihrer Kante zu sehen waren und
so praktisch unsichtbar wurden.</p>
<p style="margin: 1em 0px; text-align:
justify;">Auch heute noch ist Saturn
immer wieder ein Highlight im
Teleskop. Seine Ringe sind so
unverwechselbar wie atemberaubend
und lassen uns heute, wie vor vielen
hundert Jahren, staunen.<br>
<br>
Wer Saturn in diesem Jahr noch sehen
möchte, ohne mitten in der Nacht
oder früh morgens aufzustehen, der
muss sich also beeilen, bevor er im
Strahlen der Sonne verschwindet.</p>
